Explore our high-precision custom fasteners designed for high-stress, extreme temperatures, and ultra-harsh environments.
An in-depth guide on metallurgical configurations, surface modification tech, and global compliance for industrial procurement.
In modern industrial design, fastening technology is no longer treated merely as a structural afterthought. Critical engineering environments—ranging from deep-sea oil extraction to aerospace propulsion and cryogenic semiconductor chambers—demand fasteners that exhibit exceptional mechanical yield strength, zero galling, and supreme environmental defense. Custom black stainless steel bolts have emerged as the industry gold standard. These fasteners undergo precise surface modifications such as Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD), black oxide chemistry, or premium zinc-flake coating, which maintain the underlying steel's corrosion resistance while introducing unique surface hardening and aesthetic properties.
Information Gain: Traditional black oxide coating processes often trade off corrosion resistance for visual appeal. Our custom PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) and chemical passivating process forms a chromium-depleted surface barrier that yields up to 500 hours of continuous ASTM B117 salt spray exposure without showing signs of red rust, establishing a new operational benchmark for severe marine and electronic applications.
The global demand for high-strength black stainless steel fasteners is experiencing a compounding annual growth rate (CAGR) driven by key structural shifts in heavy engineering:
Empowered by advanced automation, patent-backed R&D, and structural warehouse intelligence.
Hash Detection System: To guarantee absolute mechanical consistency, we have formulated the most stringent sampling inspection system. Utilizing robotic multi-spectral optical sorters and ultrasonic testing, we strive to achieve zero defects for every single batch leaving our factory gates.
Beiersdorf Industrial Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.
Established in 2015 and located in the core industrial hub of Shanghai, China, Beiersdorf is a pioneering enterprise mainly engaged in the development, manufacturing, and global exportation of special fasteners and ultra-high precision components.
Our operational philosophy remains absolute: “Product quality is the foundation for an enterprise's survival” and “Heart to sunshine, everything to prosperity”. Through rigorous metallurgical engineering, state-of-the-art cold-heading machinery, and CNC high-tolerance machining centers, we serve heavy industries across six continents.
Primary Manufacturing Center: 2535 M² Advanced Production Base equipped with 5-axis CNC machines, automated optical sorters, and high-frequency induction heat treatment stations.
Custom metallurgical configurations tailored to withstand the world’s most demanding environments.
Our special fasteners are widely used in the field of shipbuilding and oceanography engineering, specifically in the manufacture of special ships, marine propulsion, marine accessories, yacht manufacturing, offshore oil drilling platforms, submarine pipelines, offshore wind power, underwater lifeboats, port machinery, dock construction, etc.
These special fasteners mainly include A4-80, A5-80, D8-80, D6-70, Duplex 2205, L7, 40CrNiMoA, Alloy 718, EN14399 steel structure connection pairs, and classification society certificate fasteners.
In response to changing global supply lines and the rise of extreme engineering, Beiersdorf has mapped out a development plan focusing on high-integrity alloy evolution. The roadmap addresses critical limitations in traditional stainless steels:
Developing ultra-low temperature mechanical locks functioning reliably at -270℃ for liquid hydrogen transport and superconducting applications, minimizing thermal contraction mismatch.
Expansion of Nickel-based Inconel 718, Cobalt-based alloys, and Titanium Grades for rocket nozzle assemblies, turbos, and thermal barriers operating up to 1200℃.
Procuring raw fastener stock from overseas involves complex structural hurdles. Beiersdorf addresses these pain points systematically:
Our engineered product catalog provides components tailored for specialized thermal, magnetic, and environmental demands.
Specially formulated to have low magnetic permeability, making them ideal for medical MRI arrays, military radar systems, and precision electronic structures.
Constructed using super stainless steel, titanium alloys, nickel-based superalloys, copper-nickel, and cobalt systems for ultimate chemical defense.
Extremely lightweight, chemically inert, non-conductive mechanical solutions for electronics housings, plating baths, and chemical processes.
Certified fasteners designed for marine structures and ocean shipping engineering, backed by international registry approvals.

Critical metallurgical and procurement questions answered by our chief materials engineers.
Black stainless steel bolts are typically manufactured using three primary technologies: Black Oxide Coating (a chemical conversion method that provides a matte finish without altering thread tolerances), Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD - a high-vacuum plasma deposition process producing a very hard titanium nitride ceramic shell), and Zinc-Flake blackening (offering superior salt spray defense). The choice depends on target wear resistance, friction requirements, and environmental exposure.
Chemical black oxide coatings are extremely thin, usually ranging from 1 to 2 micrometers, which does not affect precision thread interfaces. However, zinc-flake or heavy polymer coatings can add 5 to 15 micrometers of thickness. During manufacturing, we adjust thread dimensions to ensure standard assemblies fit seamlessly after coating.
Galling occurs due to friction and adhesion between contact threads. We prevent this by maintaining strict thread surface finishes, applying special lubricating waxes or black-oxide compounds to modify friction, and matching materials of slightly different hardnesses (such as pairing A4-80 bolts with A4-70 nuts).
